Joseph E. Dowiot, Jr.

DOWIOT, Jr., Joseph E., of West Warwick Manor, 62 Robert Street, West Warwick, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Kent Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of Lorraine E. (Olney) Dowiot, they had been married for forty-seven years.  Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph E. and Anna (Corsi) Dowiot.

Joe was employed in the forestry department with the City of Providence Parks & Recreation for many years until retiring.  He was past president of the West Warwick Manor Resident Association, an avid New England sports fan but his most enjoyable time spent was with family and enjoying good food.

Besides his wife he leaves a son, Ronald Dowiot and his wife Roshelle of Myrtle Beach, SC; two daughters, Deborah Buxton and her husband Paul of Warwick and Kim Samos and her husband Bart of Providence; two siblings, Robert Dowiot of North Kingstown and JoAnn Dowiot of Davie, FL; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  He was the father of the late Gail Croce.

His funeral service will be celebrated Monday, November 18, 2019 at 10:00 am in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by interment in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
