Lorraine E. (Olney) Dowiot

DOWIOT, Lorraine E., (Olney), 83, of the West Warwick Manor, 62 Roberts Street, West Warwick, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, December 7, 2019 at home.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Dowiot, Jr. who passed away November 12, 2019, they had been married for forty-seven years.  Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Ralph and Madeline (DeMars) Olney.

Mrs. Dowiot was an assembler at Elmwood Sensors for many years until retiring.  She was a member of the West Warwick Manor Resident Association, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and many friends and enjoyed dining out at restaurants.

She is survived by a son, Ronald Dowiot and his wife Roshelle of Myrtle Beach, SC; two daughters, Deborah Buxton and her husband Paul of Warwick and Kim Samos and her husband Bart of Providence; a sister, Barbara Leclerc; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was the mother of the late Gail Croce and sister of the late Dorothy Pogonowski and Ralph Olney, Jr.

Her funeral will be held Friday, December 13, 2019 at 9:00 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in SS. John & James Church, 20 Washington Street, West Warwick.  Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Thursday, 4:00-6:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
