BENOIT, Alderic J., “Dick”, 94, of Cecile Avenue, Coventry, passed away Saturday, afternoon, January 18, 2020 at Alpine Nursing Home, Coventry.

He was the beloved husband of Eileen M. (Theroux) Benoit, they had been married for sixty-four years. A lifelong resident of Coventry, he was a son of the late Geoffroy J. and Florida (Levesque) Benoit.

Mr. Benoit was a manager at Jerry’s Market’s for many years until retiring. He was a World War II Army Veteran and the recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a communicant of SS. John and James Parish.

Besides his wife he leaves a son, Michael J. Benoit of Hope Valley; a daughter, Patricia L. Howard of DeFuniak Springs, FL, a sister, Viola Gagnon of Coventry; seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Doris, Simone, Loretta, Wilbrod, Raymond and Geoffroy Benoit.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment with military honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
