Obituary

HOITT, Barbara A., (Chandler), LPN, 82, of Norwood Avenue, Warwick, passed away Friday, June 26, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at home.

She was the wife of Ronald G. Hoitt, Sr.   Born in Westfield, MA, a daughter of the late Harvey F. Chandler and Elizabeth M. (Macomber) Shufelt.

Barbara was a graduate of New Britain Hospital School of Nursing and a Licensed Practical Nurse at Rhode Island Hospital for thirty years until retiring in 1998.  She loved spending time with her family, was very adventurous and enjoyed traveling.

Besides her husband she leaves six children, Annette Cramer of Warwick, Norman Major of Zephyrhills, FL, Bruce Major of Brooksville, FL, Lisa Santos of Warwick, Ronald Hoitt, Jr. of Warwick and Lisa Ann Overwood of East Providence; a brother, Robert Chandler of Windsor, CT; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was the mother of the late Christopher Major and sister of the late William, Harvey and Douglas Chandler.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 10:00-11:00 am in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a funeral home service at 11:00 am. (Rhode Island DOH COVID Guidance: 25 allowed in room, please wear face coverings and observe social distance).   Interment will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.  Please omit flowers.
