Barbara A. (Gough) Senerchia

Barbara A. (Gough) Senerchia, 63, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9th, 2020 at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI.

She is the beloved daughter of Richard Francis Gough and the late Frances Marie (Peltier) Gough from West Warwick.  She was the former wife of Ferdinando Senerchia Jr of Coventry. She is survived by two brothers, Richard Gough, Jr. and Eric Gough and his wife Patricia of West Warwick.  She leaves behind her two children, Fred Senerchia and Andrea (Senerchia) Storer from Coventry and two grandchildren Adalyn and Annalise.

Barbara grew up in West Warwick and attended Saint James Catholic School as a child. Later she attended West Warwick High School and became highly involved in cheerleading for the Wizards. She eventually went on to become team captain.

Barbara served the public by working in higher education administration. She dedicated 25 years at Johnson & Wales University in the registrar’s office at the Harborside culinary campus.  Subsequently, she continued her career in the higher education and research sector at Brown University and retired there after 19 years of service.

With a passion for traveling, she was always excited to visit her children no matter the distance, holiday or adventure. With a love for cooking she was always eager to host friends and family in celebration of holidays, birthdays and family get-togethers. Her strong Irish fighting spirit will forever be cherished.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 15, 2020 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick (RI COVID Guidance: 15 allowed in room, please wear face coverings and observe social distance).  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in SS. John and James Parish, 20 Washington Street, West Warwick.  Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery on Church Street, West Warwick.  Information and condolences please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
