Frances M. (Lagana) LeMoult

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Frances Maria Lagana LeMoult announces her passing. Fran died peacefully after a short battle with cancer on December 28th, 2023.

Fran was married to William LeMoult for 60 years before he passed in June of this year. He was the love of her life and she, his. They married a couple years after meeting on a ski trip with no snow. A group of Fordham Law students and Marymount College students decided to make the best of it at a social gathering, where Bill and his brother serenaded the women in joyful song. Bill, who asked Fran to dance, knew this might be the one.  Fran played hard to get by telling him he could find her number in the phone book, but that did not deter him.

They married in June of 1963, at the Larchmont Shore Club in New York and honeymooned on the Cape. After following Bill’s career with multiple moves to new homes between New York and CT and raising two children, the family settled in the beautiful seaside town of Rowayton CT. There, Fran decided it was time to start a career. She got her real estate license and became a top-grossing, well respected and beloved realtor in Rowayton, where she opened a successful business with a partner from town. Fran loved her job. And her clients—so many of whom went on to become dear friends—loved her.

Whether she was selling a home or making one for her family, Fran put her whole self into it. She had an incredible eye for design and home decor, and used those talents to create a warm and loving environment for her friends and family to gather, live and laugh.

When Fran wasn’t working, she was socializing with her dear friends, dabbling in golf, knitting with the girls, gardening, or shopping for that perfect home accessory. Later in life after Fran retired, she and Bill moved to Rhode Island to be closer to her children. There she volunteered at Tap-In, a local pantry, where she met many more life-long friends.

Fran had the gift of gab.  She could spark up a conversation with literally anyone, including complete strangers in line at the bank, a neighbor walking a dog or taking out the garbage, or a family of four at the table next to her in a restaurant. She always made people feel welcome, seen and heard because of her sweet demeanor, curiosity of others and generous heart.

Fran is survived by her son Kenneth William LeMoult and his wife Mary Lou, and her daughter Leigh Anne Cappello, and her husband Michael. She also leaves behind four beautiful granddaughters, Christine, Austin, Amanda and Katie, two adorable great grandsons, Beckham and Walker, and her beloved twin sister, Faith Tucci.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of life on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Alexander Church, 221 Main Street, Warren, RI when the flowers are blooming and the sun is warm. Interment will be private.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please send donations to Tap-In to help those struggling to make ends meet. https://www.tapinri.org
