Joseph N. Meunier, 90, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center.
He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia T. (Shevlin) Meunier. Born in West Warwick, a son of the late Joseph and Amanda (Ducharme) Meunier. He resided in Coventry for most of his life.
Mr. Meunier was a Korean War Army Veteran and was the recipient of the Combat Infantrymen’s Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal, two Bronze Battle Stars, National Defense Medal, Efficiency Honor Medal and the United States Commemorative Medal, U.S. Army. Joe was very active with various Veterans organizations serving as Service Commander, Amvets Post 4 Coventry; Vice Commander KWVA and Vice President of Coventry Veterans’ Council. His enjoyments included shell fishing and participating in Veterans parades.
He is survived by four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Joseph Meunier, Jr. and Judith Meunier and brother of the late Marie Moretti, Lillian Chadwick, Theresa Facio, and Claire Botelho.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, November 10, 2023 from 9:00-10:30 a.m. in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in SS. John and James Church, Washington Street, West Warwick. Interment with military honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
