Manuel D. Vieira

VIEIRA, Manuel D., 87, of Main Street, West Warwick, passed away Wednesday evening, February 19, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at West View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

He was the beloved husband of Maria Merces (Mota) Vieira, they had been married for 66 years.  Born in Rabo de Peixe, Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel and Alexandrina D. (Estrela) Vieira.  He resided in West Warwick since 1971.

Mr. Vieira was a machine operator at Leviton Manufacturing for over 40 years until retiring.  He was a communicant of St. Anthony Church, loved fishing and listening to marching band music.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Adelia Brum of West Warwick, Lucy Santos of Warwick, Jaime Vieira of West Warwick, Olga Calheta of West Warwick and Cindy Panagopoulos of West Warwick; a sister, Maria Gloria Estrela of West Warwick; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.  He was the father of the late Edmundo Vieira and Cidalia Vieira and brother of the late Maria Bernardo, Adelino Estrela, Fatima Vieira and Jose Vieira.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 8:45 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence St., West Warwick.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick.  Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick.  Visiting hours Monday, 4:00-7:00 pm.  Information and condolences please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
